ORTHOPAEDICS

What is orthopaedics?
It encompasses a wide range of conditions, from common injuries like sprains and fractures to chronic conditions like arthritis and sports-related injuries, which involves bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Pain, stiffness, and swelling of the joints can cause you to lose range of motion — which is how well you're able to move a joint or stretch a part of your body. When this happens, it can be difficult to handle daily tasks, including showering, cleaning, and bending over. Care includes both surgical and non-surgical treatments. Surgical options may include joint replacement, fracture repair, and ligament reconstruction, while non-surgical options may include physical therapy, medication, and bracing. The primary goal of orthopedic care is to restore function, relieve pain, and improve a patient's quality of life.
